We met in 1998 in Edinburgh whilst studying for an Advanced Diploma in Illustrative Photography at Stevenson College. Kyle had been studying photography in Dundee for the previous two years and I (Louise) had worked at Edinburgh University as a photographic technician for 4 years.
In addition to our advanced diplomas, we each gained a professional qualification through the British Institute of Professional Photography (BIPP). Kyle's specialism was in creative portraiture and I specialised in Fashion and Beauty.
Being the new kids on the block, Hamilton Kerr had a lot to prove in order to gain clients and get our work into circulation. We entered our work into various photographic award categories, in our respective specialisms and our work started to pull in accolades...
